FAQ'S

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A STUPID QUESTION

Unless the question is "Can I do Tough Mudder" - of course you can!

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE

Tough Mudder Full is one massively muddy 16 KM course with 25 epic obstacles. Tough Mudder Half packs the same mud-soaked mayhem into a shorter, 8KM distance with 15 obstacles. The average finish time for a Tough Mudder 8KM is 2-2.5 hours; for Tough Mudder Full it’s 3 – 3.5 hours. That said, Tough Mudder Half and Fulland aren’t timed races, so your team can go at its own pace. And how long an event will take you depends on your level of fitness, your experience, and whether you’ve been training. (Notsomuch? Download our free training guides.)

CAN YOU DO TOUGH MUDDER ALONE? DO I NEED A TEAM?

You’ll need help from your fellow Mudders to conquer some of Tough Mudder’s most insane obstacles, but you DON’T need a team to register for a Tough Mudder event, thanks to our new Solo Runner Waves. Just register, then follow the instructions to “join a team” and search for “Solo Runners".

HOW HARD IS A TOUGH MUDDER?

Tackling a Tough Mudder is a different challenge for everyone, whether you’re taking on the Half or going for the Full. But a general rule of thumb is that if you can complete a 5KM parkrun, you will be able to do the half without much trouble!

Tough Mudder events are designed to test your all-around fitness, but that alone won’t get you through—you’ll also need mental endurance to overcome the obstacles and complete the course. Our free training guides can help you get started.

IS THERE A MINIMUM AGE TO PARTICIPATE IN A TOUGH MUDDER EVENT?

Yes. Tough Mudder Half participants must be at least 13 years old and accompanied by an adult.

Tough Mudder Full and Tougher Mudder participants must be at least 14 years old.

I NEED TO CHANGE MY START TIME. HOW DO I DO THIS?

Due to the volume of people we cannot change start times. However we will be implementing a standbye wave which is on a first come first serve basis.

Bottomline is, if you miss your wave you will still run, but you may have to wait around a bit!

MY START TIME IS DIFFERENT THAN THAT OF MY TEAM. WHAT DO I DO?

Pre-event: Please send operations@toughmudder.co.za a mail and we will see what we can do!

At-event: Please head to the Info tent when you arrive onsite. They will determine if you should wait in the Standby Area, or can run at your team’s allotted time.

HOW DO I CHANGE MY REGISTRATION DETAILS?

Easy. Just CLICK HERE!

CAN I CANCEL MY TOUGH MUDDER ENTRY

Unfortunately we have a no cancellations policy. However you are welcome to transfer it to a friend or move it to a different Tough Mudder event. For more information send a mail to operations@toughmudder.co.za
